It’s no secret that movies are a huge part of our culture. We go to the movies to escape reality, to laugh, to cry, to be entertained. And, of course, we love to talk about the movies we’ve seen. That’s why, in this blog post, we’re going to be talking about some of the most trending movies of the moment. We’ll discuss the box office sensation that is Infinity War, the upcoming Marvel movie releases that we’re excited for, and the best movies to see this summer. We’ll also talk about our picks for the best films of the year and who we think will win Best Picture at the Oscars. So, if you’re a movie fan, this is the blog post for you!
Infinity War Is A Box Office Sensation
When Infinity War was released on April 27, 2018, it quickly became a box office sensation. The movie has grossed $2.048 billion worldwide as of June 17, 2018 and is the fifth highest-grossing film of all time. It is also the second highest-grossing film of 2018. Infinity War has already surpassed Black Panther ($2.202 billion) to become the third highest-grossing superhero movie ever behind only The Avengers ($3.623 billion) and Furious 7 ($3.068 billion). Infinity War is poised to become one of the most successful films in cinematic history.
Infinity War is a visually stunning and awe-inspiring movie. The Russo brothers have done an incredible job directing the film and its cast of actors, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Bettany, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan and more contribute superbly to the overall experience. Infinity War is also well written and paced. It never feels slow or boring even when it spends a significant amount of time on character development scenes.
Infinity War is not without its flaws however. Some viewers found the plot convoluted and difficult to follow. Additionally some reviewers felt that certain scenes were reminiscent of George Lucas’s Star Wars Episode VI – Return of the Jedi in terms of their visual spectacle but lacked the emotional depth that made audiences connect with those earlier films. Nonetheless Infinity War remains an outstanding film that fans are loving!
